Dr. Ladan Hashemi

Senior Research Fellow & Lecturer, City St George’s University of London

Ladan’s research focuses on gender, domestic violence, and health outcomes. She was the lead analyst for New Zealand’s Family Violence Study and currently collaborates with domestic violence service providers in Iran and the UK.

As part of her 2025 CAHRE Visiting Fellowship, Dr. Ladan Hashemi delivered a seminar titled “Domestic Violence Support Services in England” on 24 September at the University of Auckland.
Her presentation explored ethnic differences in domestic violence service provision and outcomes, drawing on the largest national domestic abuse dataset in England. The seminar examined disparities in health, housing, safety, social support, finances, and migration outcomes between ethnic minoritised and non-minoritised groups.

Attendees joined for an engaging discussion followed by lunch and networking.
